"ECA's International assignment guides are a perennial favourite with our assignees and their families. Being able to provide them via our intranet has added much value to our employee support - and we've had some excellent feedback."  AstraZeneca

ECA International offers three international assignment guides for assignees and their families to help them prepare mentally and practically for an international assignment.

The guides comprise questionnaires, case studies, checklists and planners, and have been created by international HR managers, ECA policy experts and expatriates themselves.

Planning to work abroad? has been designed for people considering an international assignment, and highlights issues that could have implications for them and their families.

Together on assignment has been designed for people who need to make a decision about accompanying their partner on assignment. It prompts the individual to consider the challenges and opportunities presented by going or staying, and the impact an assignment will have on their life. It gives help and ideas based on the experiences of individuals who have been there themselves.

Returning home is designed for expatriates about to come home from an international assignment. It asks the individual to consider their lifestyle in the assignment location and their plans for the future. It tackles the question of how much the individual and their family may have changed whilst on assignment, and how this may have implications for their expectations on their return.

Guides for HR managers

ECA produces guides for you too. These enable you to anticipate queries arising from expatriates as a result of using the guides. The HR managers' guides are not published on the site, but are sent to you separately when the subscription is set up.
