Employment Conditions Abroad Limited (ECA) - Privacy Policy Employment Conditions Abroad Limited ("ECA") is committed to respecting the privacy of members of the ECA International Information Service and visitors to its website. This Privacy Policy sets out how ECA complies with European Union data protection requirements, and it applies to all ECA’s dealings with members and visitors to all ECA websites. You can access this policy via our homepage and from the bottom of every page of the public access website by clicking on the appropriate link.

This policy explains how we may collect information about you and then use it in order to satisfy your particular requirements. It also outlines some of the security measures that we take in order to protect your privacy and gives certain assurances on things that we will not do.

  • to help identify you when you telephone us to make an enquiry
  • to contact you by mail, telephone and email about other, new or improved products, services or seminars and promotional offers. If you are a Member you will automatically be updated with relevant information as part of your package of membership benefits, unless you have asked us not to contact you. • to carry out marketing analysis and database profiling aimed at improving the quality of products and services offered to you
  • for internal record-keeping.

Unless otherwise disclosed during collection, your personal information will be retained by ECA and will not be sold, transferred or otherwise disclosed outside of ECA except where such disclosure is required by law or is transferred as part of a sale of our business.

You will always be entitled to opt out of any of the above communications by contacting the Data Management Team at the address listed in the Contacts and complaints section.

Cookies

Some pages on the website use cookies, a data analysis technique.

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your computer to identify you during a visit. Like many other websites ECA uses cookies to enable our systems to recognize you when you visit the website and to allow you to navigate the website more easily. ECA uses cookies to collect clickstream data, so that we can identify and analyse the pages you visit, your Internet protocol (IP) address and your browser type.

Overall, cookies help us to provide you with a better website, by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. They are also used for security purposes to prevent unauthorised access to secure areas.

A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you chose to share with us. This practice is strictly in force. We know that people have concerns about cookies, but we believe the benefit that we both gain from their proper use is worthwhile. You may set your web browser (Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator) to notify you of cookie placement requests or to remove cookies completely. You can delete the files that contain cookies – those files are stored as part of your internet browser. However, rejecting cookies may affect your ability to use some of the products and/or services at our websites.

Unique tracking codes

When we send html email messages about new products, services, seminars or promotions these messages may contain tracking codes unique to you. This enables us to check how successful a marketing campaign is as we are able to check if individuals are opening our emails or clicking through to our website.

You will always be entitled to opt-out of such marketing communications. Each email will have an opt-out option for future communications or you can contact the Data Management Team at the address listed in the Contacts and complaints section.
